Benny Shabtai is a New York City-based entrepreneur whose success in guiding Raymond Weil USA for three decades led to the launch of a high-end jewelry and watches business. As CEO and president of Di Modolo International, Benny Shabtai emphasizes the selection of the highest quality diamonds and 18-karat gold and their placement in exquisitely crafted items, from bracelets to necklaces.

Originally from Tel Aviv, Mr. Shabtai grew up in a kibbutz with his two siblings, learning the value of hard work and shared efforts from an early age. Drafted by the army, he spent three years in military service before moving to Paris and accepting a bodyguard position at the Israeli embassy. After extensively traveling across Europe, Benny Shabtai moved to South Africa and secured a position as a casino croupier in Swaziland. He spent two more years in the military and sought new opportunities in the United States, beginning in the Eastman Watch Company shipping department.

Having graduated to sales, Mr. Shabtai gained industry insight that helped him launch Raymond Weil USA as a North American distribution arm of the storied Swiss watchmaker. Benny Shabtai oversaw marketing and publicity efforts that elevated the upscale brand, gaining traction for iconic timepieces such as the 18-karat gold-and-steel “Parsifal.” With a strong community presence, Mr. Shabtai supports several philanthropic efforts in housing, health care, and education.
